An awesome little tool for those shots off the fringe, where a wedge would be too dicey and putter can't get through the grass. But where this really shines is those approach & recovery shots where regular clubs are just useless - behind/under trees, off hard turf where a wedge would just bounce - anywhere you can't easily get under the ball or don't want a lot of loft. It's become a much-used club in my bag and I'd say it's cut several strokes off my game. Quality of the club exceeded my expectations. I used it yesterday to punch a shot off dirt, in a cluster of trees, 80 yds steeply uphill to put the ball on the green. There's no other club that could have made that shot work, period.
ADDED: after having several months of playing time with this club, I still can't say enough good things about it. Here in the northeast, this last season offered two basic turf conditions: dry as concrete or soggy, muddy slop. Neither condition makes it easy to use a wedge for those close shots under 75 yards. I've played through the winter where the soil's been frozen, as well, and the chipper makes those shots so much easier. It's well-built and it's really become a favorite club.
